Rethinking Environmental Impacts Project

The Rethinking Environmental Impacts Project is a new project I am developing that will provide research, technical assistance, and other support to communities, policymakers, and advocates in developing (and to low-income communities in developed) nations concerning environmental and social impact assessments on projects, particularly those funded by international development agencies (such as World Bank, IMF, UN, etc.).  The goals of the REIP will include (1) helping to build local civic infrastructure, (2) helping local communities to understand and, where necessary, to challenge the impacts of such projects, (3) provide connections between technical activists and projects in need of help, and (4) provide opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students to become technical activists.  Focus will be on the intersection of development, climate change, and poverty reduction.
